Company

100% commitment to your dream of flying

Kaelin Aero is your unique partner in airframe construction for civil and military aircraft. We combine extensive experience with the greatest commitment and passion – in short: we experience a fascination with flying each day anew.

Our quality demands are high, our range of services is broad: the production of aircraft components inspires us just as much as the execution of maintenance work. We travel globally to perform repair work and get your plane back in shape – even in the most remote areas.

The reconstruction of old aircraft and the construction of new historic aircraft are among our specialties – just like the upgrading of aircraft, to which we dedicate ourselves with the greatest passion. From transport planes to fighter and business jets – they are all looked after with the same care and craftsmanship.

We love these different challenges, because everyone has the same goal: to make our customers' planes airworthy again.

1998

Dominik Kälin has always been exceptionally passionate about flying. He began rebuilding planes at the age of 11. Even back then with a built-in motor of course.

2003-2007

After school he began his training in aircraft construction at Pilatus.

2007-2009

After his training, Dominik Kälin gained extensive experience in repairing and building aircraft, both at home and abroad.

2009

Founding of Kaelin Aircraftstructure GmbH (Switzerland). Its first order was a special commission with extremely tight timing: a wing repair on the legendary Super Constellation. Dominik Kälin and his employee successfully solved the task in three days and nights.

2012

Founding of Kaelin Aero Technologies GmbH (Germany). Construction of hall 1 to produce components for the Pilatus Porter PC-6.

Construction of hall 2. Start of production in component manufacturing for the Pilatus PC-24. Seven components are now manufactured here.

From 2017

Start of installation of MPVKs (maximum pilot view kits) from Swiss Rotor Services in helicopters for various operators. The MPVK gives pilots an unrestricted view of the main mission areas by enlarging the cockpit floor window to 350%. Start of construction of hall 3. Start of small-series rebuilding the Junkers F 13.

2019

Expansion of the Swiss company with its site in Malters in the Swiss canton of Lucerne. The eight thoroughbred specialists here mainly deal with difficult and demanding repairs and modifications.
